Dreamin' of a white kitchen

I quite like simple white kitchens. I wanted to paint this kitchen as soon as we moved in. But it's hard to motivate a pregnant woman who's in language learning. However, last year, before we went to South Africa to have Anastasia, hubs put that nicely painted white shelf in at the same time our language teacher went away for a week. Once I saw how nice the shelf looked against the brown kitchen, that was all the motivation I needed. Off came the cupboard doors and we got elbows deep into white oil paint.

I free-handed some flowers onto some of the cupboard corners and drawers, being the flower-loving imperfectionist that I am.

And while I was at it, I glued some fabric over the outlet covers. The painting was a full-on job that I don't want to repeat anytime soon, but we're so glad that we did it.
